Klidson Farias de Abreu was born on December 24, 1992, in Manaus, Brazil, to parents Joao Paulo Abreu Neto and Estela Farias. There isn’t any detailed information about his family background, but his parents supported him in his early wrestling career. However, Klidson lost his older brother, Anderson Ferreira de Abreu, to an undisclosed reason.
For over seven years, Abreu competed in Brazilian regional tournaments and compiled a professional MMA record of 14-2. He made his professional MMA debut against Jeferson Miranda on November 13, 2011, in the Cruzeiro Combat event. In the Heavyweight debut, Klidson won the fight via submission.
On October 10, 2015, Klidson won the fight against Johnny Walker in the Samurai FC 12 event and won the vacant heavyweight title. However, he lost the light heavyweight debut match against Bruno Cappelozza on May 21, 2016, in the Jungle Fight 87 event.

Klidson made his international MMA debut at Brave 4: Unstoppable event in United Arab Emirates in March 2017. He fought against Artur Guseinov and won the fight via submission. Abreu won his first Brave CF Light Heavyweight title on August 12, 2017. Later, he defended the title at the Brave CF 11 event in April 2018.

UFC Career: The Russian Terror’s Agony to His Opponents
Abreu made headlines in July 2018 after winning against Russian fighter Viktor Nemkov in the enemy’s hometown. Additionally, half of Abreu’s opponents were Russian, who all lost by submission. Therefore, the Brazilian fighter earned the nickname “Russian Terror.”
After 8 years of regional MMA, Klidson Abreu joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in January 2019. He made his light heavyweight debut against Magomed Ankalaev on February 23, 2019, at UFC Fight Night: Blachowicz vs. Santos. Unfortunately, Abreu lost the fight via unanimous decision.
Klidson then fought against Sam Alvey on July 20, 2019, at ESPN: dos Anjos vs. Edwards and won the fight via unanimous decision. On November 9, 2019, Abreu lost the fight against Shamil Gamzatov at UFC Fight Night 163. Abreu was initially scheduled to face Gadzhimurad Antigulov on June 13, 2020, at UFC Kazakhstan. However, the fight was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Therefore, Abreu had to face Jamahal Hill on May 30, 2020, at UFC on ESPN: Woodley vs Burns. Hill won the fight via technical knockout, but the result was later overturned as Hill tested positive for marijuana. Just after four tournaments, Abreu decided to switch to the Professional Fighters League (PFL). He parted ways with UFC on August 10, 2020.
Decent PFL Career
On June 1, 2021, Klidson Abreu signed with the Professional Fighters League and made his debut against Jamelle Jones at the PFL 6 event. Abreu lost the fight after being knocked out in the first round.
In April 2022, Abreu was supposed to fight Ali Isaev, but Isaev backed out and was replaced by Adam Keresh. Klidson won the fight via unanimous decision.
Klidson then fought against Renan Ferreira on June 24, 2022, at PFL 5 and won the fight via unanimous decision. However, the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission overturned the result to a no contest. It was found that Klidson failed a drug test for unspecified substances. But the fighter’s team explained that the positive was due to prescribed antibiotics for a leg laceration.

Talking about Klidson Abreu net worth, his disclosed career earnings are reported at $60,000. Most of his earnings went to the procedure of his leg infection treatment, which he suffered in June 2022. As per the fighter, he spent almost $100,000 on his leg’s infection.

Klidson Abreu married Amanda Spinato de Abreu in July 2019 in Curitiba, Brazil. However, he had to suspend his Disney honeymoon trip in order to attend a UFC training camp in Florida.
Married less than 72 hours, Klidson flew from Brazil to the United States for camp training. He agreed to go on his honeymoon only after facing the American fighter Sam Alvey at UFC San Antonio. Luckily, Abreu won, and he celebrated his honeymoon in the U.S.

The couple has a son named Noah Abreu, and they are expecting their second son, whom they have already named Harvey. As a father, Abreu teaches his oldest son, Noah, jiu-jitsu and judo techniques. He wants his child to accomplish more and expects him to be a future fighter.
